Subject: URGENT – Cambridge City Council seeking overseas buyers for houses
Hi Tim,
Further to your motion tonight.  Cambridge City Council as part of the (OxCam) Arc Leaders Group has signed an Internationalisation Agreement with the Depart of International Trade for overseas investment in the Arc in Feb this year, contrary to the Labour statement. As the main focus of the Arc is 1 million houses it is likely that some of the investment is for housing for overseas investors for the next “Generation Rent”.  You might want to seek publication of the Agreement as the source of the funding such as Russia, China, UAE, Saudi etc  is not clear?
The Arc Chief Executives Mtg of 25 Feb Item 2 stated: “Significant progress with the Arc Internationalisation Plan. Interviews this afternoon for consultancy support.  Launch of that plan, subject to agreement will be at UKREiiF being held in Leeds in May.” [I do not believe this happened]
Later in the Action Plan it states:”Henham Strategy was appointed for the work, a scope and timeline have now been agreed and weekly meetings scheduled to keep progress,” Henman Strategies stated  priority sectors include housing and planning.
I attach a copy of the full document, but please get in touch if we can help further
