Tivoli, Mitcham’s Corner – application to demolish – 17/1771/FUL
Extended deadline for comments, 26 January
Wetherspoons have applied for permission to demolish the Tivoli (apart from the facade) and replace it with a six-storey building made up of a single retail unit plus 16 apartments. The Tivoli is a focal feature of Mitcham’s Corner. Local residents and businesses want to see it redeveloped in a sensitive way that will enhance the area.
Friends of Mitcham’s Corner say ‘the application is to build a 6-storey block of flats with a tower alongside, both of which would dwarf other buildings anywhere near it and loom over the River and Jesus Green’.
More details and key documents and a link to the Council portal are available on the Friends website

Note you need to register in order to post any comments on line or you can write to the Case Officer, quoting the Planning Reference number 17/1771/FUL :
Michael Hammond at Mandela House, 4 Regent Street, Cambridge CB2 1BY where plans can also be viewed, Monday to Friday 9am – 5.15pm
A reminder that when objecting it is important to specify the precise Local Plan and NPPF policies to which the application does not conform. The more specific the case you make, the more attention will have to be paid to it – and you help Committee members by identifying the policy infringements which they can then cite as reasons for refusal.
